The farce of the Iranian regime’s legislative elections, held on Friday, was the subject of an unprecedented general boycott. This boycott thwarted the regime's attempts to legitimize the mullahs' obscurantist power and present a chimerical democratic facade.
After two days of total confusion in the process of "manufacturing" the results, Abdolreza Rahmani Fazli, Minister of the Interior, announced that 42.5% had voted. Even this completely false figure shows a drop of 20% compared to the 2016 elections.
