Retirees and Endangered Investors Gather in Front of the Regime Parliament (Majlis) and Are Attacked By Repressive Forces

On November 12, 2019, a group of retirees organized a meeting outside the Majlis (Parliament) of the regime in Tehran to protest against officials' failure to respond to their demands. Mostly women, protesters sang among other things, "we are furious about so much injustice."

Simultaneously, a large number of investors whose life savings had been stolen by the "Caspia" financial institution of the Revolutionary Guard also organized a protest outside the Majlis, demanding that they return their investments.

The repressive forces surrounded the protesters, took away and shattered their banners and posters, and repeatedly ordered people to disperse, threatening to arrest them. Riot forces with canes and civilian-dressed agents attacked the crowd and severely beat them, arresting several of the protesters.

They also confiscated people's mobile phones to avoid footage and photographs. The repressive forces had closed all street stalls, public restrooms and stores in the area to prevent protesters from entering them.

The Iranian Resistance greets those who meet outside the Majlis and calls on the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights and other human rights organizations to take urgent measures to ensure the release of detainees.
